Dubai: Three were killed and eight others injured in a traffic accident on Emirates road when a minibus and truck collided, an official said on Monday.
Brigaider Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, director of the Traffic Department in Dubai Police, said the accident occurred at 1pm on Emirates Road before the Maleha Exit towards Sharjah.
“Initial reports revealed that not leaving safe distance between vehicles caused the accident; the vehicle crashed into a truck. Three [have been] killed, two seriously injured and six others [are] suffering [from] moderate injuries,” Brigadier Al Mazroui said.
An ambulance and police patrols were dispatched to the scene and transported victims to Rashid Hospital for treatment.
“Drivers should be careful when [driving] on highways and leave safe distance between vehicles,” Brigaider Al Mazroui added.
