DUBAI: ASLI Studios, which calls itself a unique licensing ecosystem, will host an alternate iftar in Media City on June 10. Titled “+Sized”, the event aims to give voice to the lack of plus size representation in the creative industry.

The event plans to raise several questions in the hope of finding answers to them. The topics include: fit vs fat, what is +size?, why is the creative industry not catering to +size? How to train during Ramadan? etc.

Experts on the panel include Hala Barghout, dietician and fitness instructor, Chantal Brocca, lingerie designer and Aseya Atiq, plus size model. Blogger Shukriya will moderate the session. Stavros Antypas of ASLI said, “At ASLI we stay true to our name and find ourselves sharing ‘real’ issues, stereotypes and biases that are prevalent in our industry. +Size is an event to offer a narrative to this topic and inspire genuine inclusion of plus size within the creative community.”

The event will be held from 7 to 10pm and will be live-streamed on Facebook powered by UBMS.

WHEN: June 10, 7 to 10pm
