Al Ain qualified for the President's Cup quarterfinals after they defeated Al Ittihad 3-0 at Sharjah stadium yesterday. Al Ain will meet Al Nasr in the in the last eight next Sunday at Abu Dhabi.

Al Ain dominated the match from the start. Al Ain Romanian coach formed an attacking squad with the two professionals, Juma Mussa of Burundi and Joel Tiehi of Isory Coast spearheading the attack with Gharib Hareb and Subait Khater from the flanks with the support of Hilal Saeed.

Juma Mussa opened the score for Al Ain in the 16th minute. Hilal passed to Juma, who advanced and fired a powerful shot that went to the left of Mohammed Abdullah, the Al Ittihad goalkeeper into the roof of the net.

Al Ain continued to attack with Mohammed Abdullah saving several attempts. The most dangerous chance for Ittihad came in the 26th minute when talented Aqeel Murad sent a high ball which Walid Salim, Al Ain keeper, tipped it to the corner. In the last minute Qahttan's attempt was saved by Salim.

Al Ittihad's Croatian coach Serecko brought in Ibrahim Mohammed to add more power to his front line. Ibrahim spear-headed the Ittihad attacks. After going past two of Al Ain defenders, he passed the ball inside the penalty area instead of scoring, and the Al Ain defenders cleared it away.

The two teams shared the attacks in the first 20 minute of the second session. However, Joel Tiehi scored the second goal for Al Ain in the 73rd minute. Tiehi went past the Ittihad keeper and fired a right-footer into the empty net after being put through by Juma Mussa.

Six minutes later Juma Mussa, the man of the match, scored the Al Ain's third goal. Abdullah Ali crossed from the left an accurate ball to Juma Mussa, who made no mistake.

Despite being three down, Al Ittihad attacked in order to score a consolation goal, but lacked the final touch. Ibrahim Mohammed's attempt was blocked by the keeper. But Karimo couldn't take advantage of the rebound, and his weak shot went near the post with the goal empty in the 80th minute.

In the other prequarterfinals, Al Nasr defeated second division Deba Al Hesa with a golden goal in extra time after the two teams were tied 2-2 at the end of normal time. Libyan professional Tareq Al Taib, Mohammed Khamis scored for Al Nasr, Nad Yousuf Mussa scored the Golden goal in the extra time.

Al Shabab defeated Emarat Club 3-0 at Sharjah Al Shaab stadium. Faraj Obaid, Khalil Mirza and Walid Obaid scored for Al Shabab, who will meet Al Wasl on Sunday.
