There’s an Avengers hotel room coming in 2018

Remember The Last Action Hero – the 1993 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie where a young boy gets transported into his favourite film?

There’s a new hotel coming up in Dubai that’s will let you do something similar – the Aloft Dubai City Centre Deira, set to open in 2018, will have four cinema-themed rooms that will be modelled after iconic Hollywood and Bollywood flicks, including spy thrillers and superhero films. If the rendering of the superhero suite is anything to go by you could easily be lounging in the Avengers’ headquarters – the room is kitted out with everything superhero related, there’s even a replica of Mjolnir (Thor’s hammer) there. All that’s missing are the superheroes themselves.

The cinema-themed suites will be part of an cinema-themed floor with 25 standard rooms that rival movie theatres – each room will have a large collection of movies, TV screens, projectors and surround sound systems. Just order popcorn from room service to complete the cinema hall illusion. The hotel, a collaboration between Majid Al Futtaim (operators of VOX cinemas) and Marriot International, will be connected to City Centre Deira mall and will have a total of 304 guest rooms including 29 suites and four F&B concepts.

Continuing with the cinephelia, Aloft Dubai will also have a state-of-the-art Outdoor VOX Cinema concept – an all-season cinema and multifunctional event space.
