UAE residents will remain unaffected by the Omani government’s price hike for short stay tourist visas. The Times of Oman has reported that the price of short stay visas still remains OMR5 (Dh48) and not the new rate of OMR20 (Dh190) for GCC residents. This is also applicable to expatriates with a resident status in GCC countries, including the UAE.
The visa price hike follows Oman’s introduction of e-visa’s for tourists from Iran, India, China and Russia. Furthermore, hotels with three, four and five-star ratings can also submit visa applications for their foreign guests.
