This has to be the coolest hotel opening Dubai has seen: When the Renaissance Downtown Hotel launches on December 4,  Gwen Stefani will perform at the opening.

The singer's show is part of Marriott International’s partnership with Universal Music Group that sees Marriott hotel guests and loyalty programme members receive access to tickets, artist merchandise and concerts.

Here’s how you can get yourself into the concert, which is technically a private gig.

There will be two Ultimate Gwen Stefani Dubai Concert Fan Experience packages available online on Marriott Rewards Moments and SPG Moments websites. These include special extras including a meet and greet with the star and accommodation at the luxury Dubai hotel. Visit moments.marriottrewards.com.

Alternatively, if you’re already a member of the Marriott Rewards loyalty program, which includes The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest, you can redeem points you’ve stocked up on over the years for the Ultimate Fan Experience package.

You can expect to hear festive tunes during the concert from the singer – Gwen released a holiday album, You Make it Feel Like Christmas, in October.

The hotel looks every bit as cool and eclectic as its guest of honour, with a dynamic art installation of Dubai’s cityscape in the lobby and Pablo Picasso’s famed camel sketch reimagined into a 3D iron rod sculpture in every room.

Designed by interior firm WA International, the hotel will have 298 guestrooms, including 65 suites and a string of top-notch restaurants to boot.

The hotel will be home to celebrity chef Masaharu Morimoto’s first UAE restaurant in December.

It already has opened two restaurants by Michelin-starred travelling chef David Myers - Bleu Blanc modelled after a Southern French farmhouse and BASTA! has been inspired by a Roman trattoria.

BHAR, an in-house Arabic restaurant will debut as soon as the hotel opens its doors.
