Emirati director Ali F Mustafa, of City Of Life and From A to Z fame, and Ahmad Hassan Ahmad from the UAE have been selected under the Enjaaz programme of the Dubai International Film Festival (Diff) to receive Dh250,000 financial aid for their short films.

The Enjaaz initiative, launched to promote local talent at the annual Festival, will also see filmmakers from Iraq such as Hashim Al Ifari and Noor Al Aradi and Saudi Arabia’s Hind Al Fahhad and Dayaa Yousuf, receive financial aid.

“The filmmakers and their projects this year were selected for their innovating storytelling, for pushing the boundaries of short filmmaking and presenting an impressive range of experience in both narrative and form,” said Masoud Amralla Al Ali, Diff’s Artistic Director, in a statement.

“Enjaaz is the proud supporter of many acclaimed films and we look forward to celebrating more Enjaaz supported films at this year’s Festival and building on the programme’s ongoing success,” Al Ali said.

The 14th edition of Diff will be held from December 6 to 13. Ticket packages are available now and start from Dh275. For details, go to diff.ae. — Staff Report
