Asuravadham’s (Slaying of the Demon) trailer gives a peek into this family drama that is marked with violence and gore as one man realises that he is being stalked by a stranger.
And when he musters up the courage to ask him, “Who are you?”, the stranger replies, “Ask your wife.”
Directed by Maruthapandian, the film features actor-director Sasi Kumar and Nandita Shwetha in the lead. Sasi Kumar plays a worker from the Middle East, who returns to his home in Chennai and faces the travails that follow.
“I liked the story on the first narration itself and wanted to produce it myself, but when producer Lalit Kumar approached me to make a film with him, this script was ready,” said Kumar.
Justifying the violence in the film, he pointed to its title and added that it carried a social message too.
Shwetha said that as Kumar’s onscreen wife, she plays a mature role. Writer Vasumitra plays the antagonist.
Asuravadham releases in the UAE on June 28.
