Dubai: The world’s richest boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather on Saturday night (US time) will be available as pay-per-view on etisalat and OSN channels, while du will be screening it to its subscribers for free.
Etisalat is charging Dh125 to show the bout, with the telecast beginning at 5am UAE time on Sunday. Customers can watch the live broadcast as well as repeat telecasts over the subsequent 24 hours.
Any customer on etisalat’s eLife TV can subscribe to the event and there will be a dedicated channel for this — number 436.
Du said the fight will be screened live on its channel 500, available to all du TV subscribers at no additional cost. Customers on the go can follow the live action with du View.
Channel 500 will be activated automatically for all customers both on TV and du View applications prior to the fight.
“This worldwide pay-per-view match, made available to all of our TV subscribers, reinstates our appreciation of customers’ loyalty and understanding of their needs. It is our customers who drive us to offer the best value programming across the du TV platform, offering international premieres, popular movies and live sporting action for the enjoyment of our valued customer,” said Samer Geissah, Vice-President of Consumer Home and Multimedia for du.
Du subscribers unable to watch the live action at home will be able to catch up on du View, the du multi-screen service that enables customers to catch the action on their mobile or tablet devices, smart TV or Xbox console. All subscribers have to do is download the du View app and log in with their My Account details.
Fans will also be able to watch the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight on OSN Sports Box Office HD (channel 31) after subscribing to pay-per-view, giving them exclusive access to the live airing on Sunday morning, with three replays shown throughout the day. Repeats will start at 10am UAE time.
Customers need to either call the OSN call centre on +971 4 367 7888, send the SMS code 905 to +971 50 357 5111 or log on to osn.com. Each pay-per-view is priced at $34 [Dh125].
“The match is available to all OSN subscribers across the region — except customers who are still on legacy boxes. For example, customers who are still using Abu Dhabi Sports Legacy boxes and have not yet been swapped to OSN boxes,” OSN said.
