Umm Al Quwain: Waseem Anwar’s all-round show helped TNS Group Cricket Club emerge as the champions of the Umm Al Quwain Summer (UAQ) T20 League Season 3.

The UAQ Cricket Club, which is trying to complete as many tournaments as possible in the only ground left with them, saw TNS Group stop Brother Gas by two wickets. Brother Gas recently won the Kashmir T20 league but could not carry the momentum into this match. They began well through openers Faheem Shafique smashing a 21-ball 39 including eight boundaries and Bahadur Khan hitting 43 runs from 33 balls with three boundaries and a six. Though they lost a couple of quick wickets, Qasim Basheer (30) and Sabarish Kakarla (21) revived the innings and helped them post 167 for nine in 20 overs. For TNS Group, Mohammad Ahmad took three wickets while Waseem Anwar claimed two.

Chasing the target, Anwar sparkled with the bat too and hit an unbeaten 54 from just 44 balls with three boundaries and four sixes. He got good support from Falak Sher who smashed an unbeaten 25 off only eight deliveries with two fours and as many sixes as TNS Group reached the target in 19.4 overs.

In the Corporate Alubond T-20 Cricket tournament, Atlas Foundation will meet Nucaf Tellicherry in the final. Atlas Foundation defeated G Force Cricket Academy by 55 runs. In a low-scoring semi-final, Atlas Foundation posted 158 for 9 in 20 through Usman Khan’s 40. G Force could muster only 103 for 9 in 20 overs.
