Jakarta: Mohammad Al Hajeri and Reema Al Heloo will be representing the UAE in golf at the Asian Games in Indonesia this weekend from August 23-26.

Both players — Mohammad, 17, and Reema, 16 — will participate in the individual four round event. Their preparation began over four months ago with four to six training sessions a week since the start of July. They also went on a two-week camp to Germany.

“We feel that our players are ready to compete and represent the UAE at the best of their ability,” said national team manager Khalid Al Shamsi.

“Representing the UAE at the Asian Games will be a great honour and achievement for Reema and Mohammad. The Emirates Golf Federation is proud of the hard work and determination that they have put into their preparation.”

Over 46 countries will compete in golf at the Asian Games with South Korea and Chinese Taipei considered the favourites.
