Dubai: Jacob Richie, who has been the match-winner for Ocean Fair International (OFI) team in many tournaments, produced another match-winning knock to beat G Force and lift the Anchor Marine Cup in the seventh edition of the tournament the Ocean Fair Sports Club Grounds in Dubai Investment Park last weekend.

Richie hit 81 runs to help OFI record 168 for five wickets in 20 overs. Waheed Ahmed and Qadir Nawaz chipped in with knocks of 37 and 23 not out.

Richie had sparkled in this year’s Al Taher Spices Cup and bagged the best batsman award. He had also steered OFI to an exciting four-run win over Yes-Bank Premium Aces team in the final of the Oasis Chemical Cup with a knock of 71 in Ocean Fair’s total of 159 in 20 overs.

Richie dominated the G Force bowling so much that only Jash Giyanani and Marlon Malcom could control the run-flow by taking two wickets each.

Chasing the score, G Force could muster only 111 for in 20 overs. Mohammad Hassan chipped in with 23 runs while Marlon Malcolm scored 20 runs. Waheed Ahmed struck with three wickets for 24 runs backed by Farhad Khan and Shafaqat Ali with two wickets each. Waheed was declared man of the match for his all-round show. This tournament was organised by Ocean Fair Sports Club and prizes were donated by Shahveer Sidhwa of Anchor Marine.

In the ongoing Bukhatir League, Alubond Tigers reached the final of the 44th Bukhatir Premier League with a two-wicket victory over Noor Al Yemen. Chasing a target of 197 to win, Alubond Tigers opener Waseem Rana hit a 56-ball 58 runs. Noor Al Yemen posted 196 in 49.2 overs through Amjad Ali’s 31-ball 50 runs. In the final, Alubond Tigers will take on Phoenix Medicines.
