James wrecks Malik Contracting with four wickets as Rashid hits half century

Umm Al Quwain. Iconic Cricket Club won the Umm Al Quwain Cricket Club popular Weekend Night tournament final defeating Malik Contracting LLC by six wickets.

Despite shortage of ground, the organisers are ensuring that their popular tournaments are held before extreme summer heat.

The tournament is being held under the under the auspices of the Ajman Cricket Council and Emirates Cricket Board’s Domestic Cricket Development Committee.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Malik Contracting lost their prolific batsman Bakhtiyar Khan and his partner Ahsan Ullah Khan for duck.
Hasnain Shah scored a 19-ball 25 runs including two boundaries and a six. Ahsan Ali Abbas hit a steady 31 runs supported by four boundaries while Ihtisham Sadeeq hit a 11-ball 21 containing a boundary and two sixes as Malik Contracting recovered from the poor start.

Fawad Ali smashed a late 20-ball 21 including two boundaries as Malik Contracting posted 147 in 20 overs.

For Iconic CC, Joseph James picked four wickets from his four overs giving away 23 runs while Fawad Gafoor and Ahsan Khan chipped in with two wickets each.

Chasing the target, Iconic’s Junzab Eisar smashed a 14-ball 20 to give a quick start.

Arsalan Rashid cracked a 37-ball 50 peppered with five hits to the fence and three over it before Omar Dager (18n.o) and Nadeem Abbas (24 n.o) helped Iconic reach the target with two balls to spare.
