Dubai: The UAE-Scotland ICC Intercontinental four-day match at Ayr, Scotland was abandoned due to rain. The fourth day’s play too got washed out with not a single ball being bowled.

UAE were in a respectable 212 for 5 in the only 66 overs of play that was possible in the four days.

Shaiman Anwar had cracked 78 runs off 129 balls with nine boundaries. Rameez Shehzad was unbeaten on 74 off 140 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes when rain stopped play.

UAE and Scotland were awarded seven points each.

On the fourth day, though it did not rain during the start time, by 1pm heavy showers returned forcing the officials to call off the match.
