Abu Dhabi: Organisers of next year’s Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees to encourage referees from the region to volunteer and attend.

In the months leading up to the March 14-21 Games, volunteers will receive training. The Games will feature over 7,000 athletes and 3,000 coaches from more than 176 nations to compete in 24 sports across 11 venues, and is just one of a series of events planned to increase opportunities for people of determination in the UAE, in line with the nation’s vision of a creating a more inclusive society.
