Dubai: Al Wahda beat Dibba 2-0 away to consolidate their lead in Group A of the Arabian Gulf Cup on Sunday.

‘The Clarets’ are now on four wins from four, five points clear of Bani Yas who also won 2-1 away to Kalba on Sunday.

Khalil Ebrahim set up Mohammad Al Hammadi with a tap in on the six-yard line from a cross on 19 minutes to put Al Wahda ahead.

The supplier then turned scorer on 42 minutes to add the second from a one-on-one after being thread through by Esmail Al Zaabi.

Dibba’s best chance came when Juma Masoud shot straight at the keeper during a clear run just before the hour. Al Wahda’s Yahya Al Ghassani was also twice denied around the same time; first with a header tipped clear by Dibba keeper Abdullah Sultan and then when Nashd Abdkader cleared his effort off the line.

In Bani Yas’ game, Abdullah Hassan cancelled out Mana Al Baroud’s 29 minute opener for Kalba on 39 minutes. Pedro Conde then got the winner for the visitors on 82 minutes.
