Doha: The UAE snooker team were unlucky to miss out on the gold medal in the team event at the 12th Arab Games as they went down to Bahrain 3-2 in a competitive encounter that went on late into Thursday night.

Bahrain went 2-0 into the lead (69-48, 63-37), but the UAE came back strongly and tied the scores at 2-2 (67-32, 78-39) before going down again in the decider (74-36).

Eissa Al Hashimi, Mohammad Al Hashimi and Mohammad Al Joker represented the UAE.

In the 9-Ball Pool Scotch Doubles, the UAE's Salahul Din Al Rimawi and Hani Al Houri lost the bronze medal to Qatari Bashar Hussain and Mohammad Al Binali 9-7.

The UAE ended their campaign in the cue sport competitions with one silver and one bronze medal.
