Tom Brady ready for Super Bowl despite illness

Patriots quarterback shrugs off cold to practice, Stork fit after knee injury

Phoenix: Quarterback Tom Brady, whose New England Patriots take on Seattle in Super Bowl 49 on Sunday, looked sharp in practice on Wednesday despite battling a cold.

The two-hour practice was the team’s first since they arrived in Arizona on Monday.

They were at full strength. Centre Bryan Stork, who didn’t practice when drills began last week while he nursed a knee injury, practiced without any apparent setback.

Belichick said he wasn’t worried about Brady’s fitness. “He took all the snaps,” the coach said.

Brady, sounding a little stuffy, said he caught the bug back home.

“I’ve had it for four or five days,” he said. “My kids got sick, and then my wife’s pretty sick right now, so I brought it, unfortunately, to Phoenix. But I’ll be fine. I’ll be good.”
