Dubai: Tennis in the UAE is all set to make a fresh impact with the launch of a new website, logo and a brand new identity.

The new website (www.tennisemirates.ae) was launched by Shaikh Hasher Al Maktoum, President, Tennis Emirates (TE) earlier this week.

“The history of tennis in the UAE is about to enter a new era, one of increased cooperation, recognition and mutual success for all involved,” Shaikh Hasher said in his opening remarks.

“Our plan is to consolidate what we already have and today is the first step for us as we bring you new and exciting schemes for the development of tennis in our country. The ultimate goal is to bring the different elements of the UAE tennis family under one umbrella through the use of this new website,” he added.

The new website will allow tennis lovers in the UAE to easily find a wide range of information on all aspects of the game, along with other variations of tennis such as wheelchair tennis, paddle and beach tennis.

The new software will allow clubs, coaches, players and officials to register themselves and obtain their annual membership card online. Furthermore, organisers can apply for their tournaments and get approval for the events electronically, while players can search for tournaments, apply online and later check their draws and match schedules.

“We are delighted to be able to launch our programme and the new website as previously promised, and I would like to thank the team who has worked hard during the summer on the project,” said Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, Vice-President, TE.

Earlier this month, TE had announced a relaunched programme headed by ITF referee Hany El Khafief as the Events and Marketing Manager.
