Salalah: An all-new domestic Sailing Arabia — The Tour (SATT) sets sail from Salalah to Muscat in Oman using faster Diam 24 multihulls on Saturday.

Previous editions of the race, which started in 2011, have used Farr-30 yachts, with routes going around the Strait or Hormuz from Oman to the UAE or vice versa.

Eight teams confirmed to take part are; Vivacar, Beijaflore, Poujoulat, DB Schenker, Lorina, Renaissance, EFG Bank Monaco and Oman Sail’s development squad.

The Tour will feature eight venues, three offshore legs, three coastal raids and four in-port races, with the boats disassembled and transported between venues on some occasions. Stop offs between Salalah and Muscat will take in Duqm, Barr Al Hikman, Masirah, Ras Al Hadd, Sur and Bandar Al Khiran. The race is expected to end on February 17.
