Dubai: Kiev in the Ukraine will be the latest addition to the UIM F1H2O World Championship watersport calendar that gets under way with the season opener in Qatar on March 5.
The brand new venue was added to the calendar following an agreement between Idea Marketing's vice-president Lavinia Cavallero and the governor of Kiev Region, Anatoly Prisyazhnyuk, earlier this week.
The Grand Prix of Ukraine — that is scheduled to take place on July 31 — is meant to act as a precursor to Ukraine being one of the co-hosts to the 2012 European Football Championship.

F1 promoter Nicolo di san Germano had announced at the Sharjah Grand Prix, at the end of 2010, that the 2011 calendar will consist of nine races starting with the opening round in Doha, Qatar in March.
The last two rounds will be held as usual in the UAE, with the penultimate race in Abu Dhabi on December 9, followed by the finale in Sharjah on December 16.
