Wheelchair racer Andrew Small of Great Britain grabbed the Paralympic gold in the men’s T33 100m final after thrashing his rivals.
It was Small’s first Paralympic title and he clocked 17.73 seconds to hold off a late charge by Kuwait’s defending champion Ahmad Almutairi.

“I was born in 1993, I weighed one pound, six ounces. I had a 5% chance of living. To get here is crazy,” said Small, 28. His success was an upgrade on the bronze he won behind Almutairi at Rio 2016, His victory brought ParalympicsGB’s 24th gold of the Games.
Meanwhile, Phoebe Paterson Pine took archery gold on her Games debut on day six of Tokyo 2020 beating Chile’s Mariana Zuniga Varela 134-133 in the women’s individual compound final.
