Dubai: A broken leg gave sports a world record holder called Tim Kneale.

Growing up playing cricket and rugby at school level, Kneale suffered a broken leg when he was 19, putting an end to a promising career either in cricket or rugby, or both.

“I broke my leg and that was disappointing at that time. Slowly I and a few of my friends decided to qualify for the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002, but didn’t succeed. That only gave us a bigger resolve and we qualified to the World Championships in Finland where we won a team bronze for the GB junior team,” Kneale recounted.

“At that time breaking my leg was a big shock and disappointment. But now when I look back, I wouldn’t have achieved what I have done in shooting if I had not broken my leg. All these things happen for a reason,” he smiled.
