New Indian Model School, Al Ain will take on New Indian Model School, Dubai in the final of the inter-school volleyball tournament being organised by the Central School, Dubai.
In the semifinals played at the Central School volleyball court, New Indian Model School, Al Ain, scored an exciting victory over hosts Central School, Dubai.
The Central boys won the first set 25-21 but lost the next two sets through very close fought games.
Cental School lost the second set lost 19-25 and the third set by 20-25.
Central School fought back to win the fourth set 25-23 to level the contest.
In the decider, NIMS Dubai held their nerves to record a 15-11 victory.
The NIMS, Al Ain are the previous year's winners of this tournament while Central School, Dubai were the runners up of the previous year's event.
Even though Mudassir, Malek Majid, and Ali Jaffer played well for the Central School team, the hard-hit spikes by Fasil and Nihal as well as the placing and coordinated team work of NIMS, Al-Ain steered NIMS, Al-Ain into the finals.
In the Second semifinals played between Global English School (GES), Al-Ain and New Indian Model School, Dubai, the NIMS, Dubai boys scored an emphatic victory for the GES team.
Though the GES team took the first set, they lost consequently in the next three sets to provide an easy passage for NIMS, Dubai into the final.
Sibin Babu and Sohail played well for NIMS, Dubai.
