New Indian Model School win

Gulf Asian School, Sharjah, after trailing in the first three quarters, stunned Dubai Modern High School on the second day of the 15th New Indian Model School (NIMS) Trophy inter-school basketball tournament organised by NIMS, Sharjah.

Gulf Asian scored the first basket through Thariq but it was soon levelled by Modern's Udai Kapila.

Udai went on score two more baskets well assisted by Anish, who scored two baskets in the first quarter.

Modern took a five-point lead in the first quarter to finish at 12 7.

Gulf Asian fought back in the second quarter to reduce Modern's lead to 21 -19. Both the teams scored 10 points each in the third quarter.

Gulf Asian took lead in the last minute through Avinash and Thariq scoring the last basket to register a 37-34 win over Modern High, Dubai. Thariq top scored for Gulf Asian with 20 points.

Hosts NIMS, Sharjah registered an easy win against Emirates English Speaking School, Dubai by a margin of 32 points. At half time NIMS led 29 -6.

Mithulaj top scored for NIMS with 21 points.
