The new board of directors of the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) hopes to build on the success of the past two years.

Led by the new chairman, Talal Al Zain, the board has plans to embark on a fully packed agenda on its calendar starting this September.

The new calendar will also have an international line-up of motorsport events along a much awaited expansion programme at the BIC.

The future projects of the national project were discussed when the newly formed board of directors held its first meeting yesterday under the chairmanship of Al Zain.

Al Zain, an investment banker with international bank Investcorp, has taken over from Shaikh Fawaz Bin Mohammad Al Khalifa.

The board also included four new members, namely Shaikh Abdullah Bin Eisa Al Khalifa, Talal Kanoo, Tim Matter and Raed Al Samaheji. "The agenda of the new board is to build on the success of the past two years," stated Al Zain.
