The UAE Volleyball Association have signed a contract with Sulaiman Al Fahim Group as the main sponsors of the UAE national youth (under-20) team for tournaments in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Tehran.
"This shows the excellent contribution of the national companies to support sport, and volleyball in particular, in the UAE," said Mohammad Jalfar, Chairman, UAE VA, at a press conference at the Al Ahli Club yesterday.
Shaikha Shamsa Bint Hasher Al Maktoum, UAE VA board member and chairman of the marketing committee, attended the press meet along with other board officials.
"We take this opportunity to thank Sulaiman Al Fahim Group for their initiative, which will be a magnificent support for the youth national team.
"The sponsorship will also include the youth team's participation in the Rashid International tournament in Dubai next year," said Jalfar.
Sulaiman Al Fahim, Executive Chairman of the Group, said that they were proud to support the youth national team in their forthcoming assignments.
"We are very happy to support our national youth team, which makes us proud. We as national companies have to support our youth who represent our country in the GCC, continental and international events to help them achieve great results and show the world the progress of our country," Sulaiman Al Fahim added.
However, Jalfar refused to announce the details of the contract.
"Sulaiman Al Fahim told us that he is ready to support the youth team without a limit. He has not yet fixed a sum as he is ready for everything," Jalfar clarified.
The UAE team will take part in the 10th Zayed Youth GCC volleyball tournament in Abu Dhabi from July 28 to August 4, and the 13th Asian championships in Tehran from September 13-21.
