Knight Shot backs 8-ball pool tournament

Fujairah: Knight Shot, the region's leading supplier for exclusive pool equipment and accessories in the UAE, will be sponsoring the much anticipated Etisalat World 8 Ball Pool Championship in Fujairah from April 4 to 10.

And its role in the tournament is a crucial one. The showroom's technical staff will be offering 24-hour assistance at the tournament and will take care of all the technical aspects including the balancing of the tables and maintenance of player's cues.

Avid pool player

Mohammad Fadavi, an avid pool player and managing partner of Knight Shot Inc, said: "Pool is a sport for everyone, children as young as eight are playing while the number of women playing the sport is also on the rise too. Hopefully in a few years time we can expect the sport to be recognised on an Olympic level, says Fadavi."

Ahmad Ebrahim, tournament director, Etisalat World 8 Ball Pool Championship 2010 Fujairah, says "We want to help promote the game in the UAE and the GCC.

"We've partnered together on so many tournaments around the emirates and this has helped players develop their skills and play on a professional level.

"Our goal is to make our local players national champions. We've sent several players to play in tournaments in the UK, Taiwan, Philippines and Japan — it's our social responsibility to develop this game."

He said: "National players who manage to rank top ten in the tournament will get a pool table from Knight Shot."

Fadavi is the only dealer in the region who has been certified by the World Pool Association to provide its own branded tables on an international tournament level.
