Dubai: The Dubai Cricket Council’s League of Mammoths second edition ended with Jumeirah Mammoths emerging as the champions. The stars who scripted Jumeirah’s exciting 29-run victory over Zabeel Mammoths were Shadab Khan and skipper Shiva Pagarani.

Khan cracked a superb half century while Pagarani, fresh from his six-wicket spell in the Dubai Cricket Council’s (DCC) Pink Ball Forty’s League, bagged three wickets for 31 runs to end Zabeel’s challenge.

Jumeirah had posted 189 for eight in 25 overs through Khan’s 59 runs which came from 36 balls and contained three huge sixes and four boundaries, though Shajil Balan bowled well to take three wickets.

Chasing, Zabeel were bowled out for 160 in 23.4 overs despite Vinay Tolani’s 48 runs and Javed Siddiqui’s 35 runs.

It was a creditable win for Jumeirah as they had lost the final of the first edition to Nad Al Sheba.

Zabeel captain Ranjeet Chavan struck two boundaries to set the stage for the chase but Usman Kutty and the dangerous Nikhil Srinivasan were dismissed quickly and that made Jumeirah’s task look easy.

Javed Siddiqui and Player of the Tournament Tolani conjured up a 78-run partnership.

After Javed fell, and Tolani too departed two runs short of his half century, Zabeel were bundled out quickly.

In the One Stop Tourism 43rd Bukhatir Premier League, Multiplex International extended their unbeaten run. Akhlaq Butt scored an unbeaten 120 runs while Saleem A Raheem got out for 99 but helped Multiplex whip ECB Blues by a massive 291 runs at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
