Olympic 400 metre champion Kirani James wins 200m at Seiko Grand Prix in Tokyo
Tokyo Justin Gatlin won the men’s 100 metres on Sunday at the Seiko Golden Grand Prix in a time of 10.02 seconds.
Gatlin beat American compatriot Mike Rodgers by 0.09 seconds. Christophe Lemaitre of France was third with a time of 10.31.
Olympic 400 metre champion Kirani James of Grenada won the men’s 200 with a time of 20.63, edging Michael Mathieu of the Bahamas, who clocked 20.64. Kei Takase of Japan was third in 20.75.
Terer, who was third in the event last year, completed the 20th edition of the race in 2 hours, 8 minutes and 7 seconds in rainy and windy conditions. Another Kenyan, Evans Kiplagat Chebet, finished second in 2:08:17 ahead of Cuthbert Nyasango of Zimbabwe in 2:09.52.
Dado crossed the finish line in 2:23.34, leading the Ethiopian sweep of the first six places in the women’s race, ahead of Fantu Eticha and Ashete Bekere.
