Dubai: In the closing event of the second day, Ireland’s Marion Hughes gained the win over the UAE’s Abdullah Mohammed Al Marri and Maitha Mohammed Al Hajri in the Longines Speed Stakes.

Hughes, an Olympic show jumper and a regular at the Dubai Show Jumping Championship, rode Heritage HHS Fortuna to the first place finish in a dominating 62.76. The class included 32 entries competing for the AED 65,000 in prizemoney .

Abdullah Al Marri and Maitha Al Hajri were split by less than a second for runnerup and third place finishes. Al Marri took the victory with Sama Dubai FBH with a clocking of 65.97 as Al Hajri guided Alaska to a finish in 66.80.
