Dubai: Godolphin’s Indulgent races on Tapeta artificial surface for the first time in the Group 2 Presque Isle Downs Masters at Presque Isle Downs, in the USA, on Monday.

All of the four-year-old Bernardini filly’s previous nine starts have come on dirt.

She even put together a hat-trick over six furlongs at Parx and Aqueduct between October and January. Representing Kiaran McLaughlin, Indulgent was a noteworthy second in the seven-furlong Group 3 Distaff Handicap at Aqueduct in April and ran on well, finishing third on her most recent start in the Shine Again Stakes over the same trip at Saratoga on August 2.

McLaughlin commented: “Indulgent trains on Polytrack every day at Greentree and appears to like a synthetic surface, although that doesn’t always mean they enjoy it when it comes to race time.

“She is doing very well and should run her race provided she handles the Tapeta.”

Indulgent, the mount of Luis Saez and drawn eight, lines up against 11 rivals including dual Woodbine G3 winner Ami’s Mesa and G1 runner-up Bar Of Gold.
