Dubai The CEI 3* Dubai Crown Prince Endurance ride, sponsored by Emirates Airline and organised by Dubai Equestrian Club (DEC), will be held on Saturday and will bring the curtain down on the week-long Dubai Crown Prince Endurance Festival at the Dubai International Endurance City (DIEC).

The festival, which commenced earlier this week included four separate endurance rides featuring the CEN Dubai Crown Prince Ride for Ladies on Monday, the CEN 100km Dubai Crown Prince Ride Restricted to Private Stables/Individuals on Tuesday and the CEN 120km Yamamah Endurance Cup for Mares on Wednesday.

The prestigious Dubai Crown Prince Endurance Ride will be held over 140km.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council is an inspirational horseman and supporter of equestrian sport. As Chairman of Dubai Sports Council he uses his high-profile position to promote sports participation across the board and his own achievements in the arena of endurance riding has seen the sport adopted by many young Emiratis.

Just four months after winning the 2014 FEI World Endurance Championship in Normandy, France, Shaikh Hamdan added Dubai’s most prestigious endurance title to his impressive roster of victories by collecting the HH Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Cup CEI3*. Shaikh Hamdan also won his second CISM World Military Endurance title in 2014 and he continues to be an ambassador for the sport.

The DEC achieved an important milestone in the organisation’s development on Thursday when the organisation was awarded a certificate from the International Standards Organisation (ISO), an independent, non-governmental organisation based in Geneva. The ISO recognises bodies that operate to world-class specifications for products, services and systems, to ensure quality, safety and efficiency.

Mohammad Essa Al Adhab, General Manager of the DEC, said: “The Dubai Crown Prince Endurance Festival brings down the curtain on our endurance season and, together with the HH Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cup, is the most prestigious event that we host at the DIEC.

“It was developed as a showcase of events for riders of different levels to share in the experience of a prominent competition. This is a fitting finale for the riders and all the teams of this sport. We are pleased to be joined by Emirates and we thank them once again for the wonderful support and sponsorship of the Dubai Crown Prince Endurance Cup on Saturday and we wish the best of luck to all competitors.”

Shaikh Majid Al Mualla, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Centre, said: “Emirates has a strong affiliation with horse racing and equestrian sports around the globe and we are honoured to support this year’s Dubai Crown Prince Endurance Cup.
