Dubai: A big field of 92 golfers will tee off on the Faldo course at the Emirates Golf Cup on Thursday to compete for top prizes in the 22nd edition of the annual Gulf News Merchants Cup Golf Tournament.

This looks the strongest field assembled for the championship, which brings together member of the business community in the UAE, in many years.

The format is a Pairs Stableford (3/4 Handicap) with the best Stableford score to count on each hole. Men will tee off from the Blue tees and ladies from the Red tees.

Beautiful black crystal trophies for the top five finishers are up for grabs with stylish prizes also awaiting winners of the Nearest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Most Birdies, Hole-in-One categories, in addition to several ‘fun’ prizes.

“We are very excited to be hosting this 22nd edition of our annual tournament”, said Rajeev Khanna, Commercial Director, Al Nisr Group, who is an enthusiastic golfer himself.
