Dubai: Irish 1000 Guineas runner-up Anna Salai will bid to hand Godolphin their first success in the Group One Coronation Stakes, the feature event on day four at Royal Ascot.
The globe-trotting stable have not sent a runner to the race since Silca's Sister finished sixth behind Nannina in 2006, but must fancy their chances with the three-year-old daughter of Dubawi, who was denied victory by a head in the Curragh classic on May 23 by Bethrah.
Trained by Mahmoud Al Zarouni and to be ridden by Frankie Dettori, Anna Salai takes on 12 rivals including Tabassum, who will carry the colours of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance. Shaikh Hamdan won this race last year with Ghanaati and in 1985 with Bahathri.
