New Delhi: Hockey India is investigating claims of sexual harassment of junior female players in the national field hockey team.

Hockey India president Vidya Stokes said coach Maharaj Kishan Kaushik had stood down from his position ahead of the upcoming Asian Champions Trophy, and the organisation will set up a committee to look into the claims.

The Times of India reported Wednesday that an anonymous letter written to India's Sports Ministry made allegations of misconduct against Kaushik involving junior players during a tour.

Kaushik told the newspaper that the charges against him are false.
