ECB Blues lose floodlit match by eight wickets
Sharjah: Abu Dhabi Gymkhana defeated ECB Blues by eight wickets in the final over of the match to win the first Al Dhaid Ramadan floodlit tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, for the Conmix T-20 Cup at Al Dhaid Cricket Village on Friday.
It was experienced Saqib Ali, who turned in a superb all-round performance to clinch the final for his side. The all-rounder first snared three wickets for 20 runs and then smashed a crucial 29 off 20 balls with five fours as Abu Dhabi Gymkhana overhauled ECB Blues' total of 121 for seven in the last over of the match.
ECB Blues, batting first, had built their innings through Amjad Ali, Waqas Khan and Abdul Rehman.
Abu Dhabi Gymkhana, in reply, needed some useful contributions from Haroon Iftikhar, Sakib Shah, Saqib Aliand Arfan Haider to see off a determined challenge.
Saqib Ali was named Man of the Final.
