Dubai: The UAE Ladies Golf Teams are lying in second and tied fifth after the first round of the 30th Singha Thailand Ladies’ Amateur Open Championship being played at Lotus Golf Resort in Thailand.

The Team leaders are BINGSU on two under par with the top two scores from the three players counting for the Team score in this format.

Individual leader

In the Individual event 17-year-old Jamie Roslyn Camero (UAE) who plays out of The Els Club, Dubai, lies in tied eighth after a one under par 71 and had the best score from the six UAE representatives. The individual leader is on six under par and has a two-shot lead from two players on four under par and three players on three under par. Camero had three birdies and two bogeys in her round.

The UAE Team 1 saw Jamie Roslyn Camero and 23 year-old Intissar Rich (72) form a Team score of 143, with UAE Team 2 having 14 year-old Anca Mateiu (72) and 17 year-old Hannah Alan (73) the counting scores to be one over.

Two bogeys

Intissar had three birdies and three bogeys and Anca had a round of two birdies and two bogeys. Hannah had another strong score for the UAE Team 2, that could have been even better if not for two bogeys and a double on hole 13. Fourteen players from the field beat the par of 72.

A total of 69 players are in the field with 11 Teams: BINGSU, UAE (two teams), So cool, DG2018, Three Regions, TALGA (two teams), MALGAYSD, Better Together and Tony Golf Gang.

The format of the tournament is 54 holes for the Individual and 36 holes for the Team.

The second round will be played on Thursday.
