Two teams from the UAE participated in the recent World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC) World Final, held in Tenerife, Spain, between the 19th and 20th October.
Subho Biswas (5) and Antony Louis (7), representing Julius Baer, UAE Team 2, finished fourth overall with a 36 hole total of 79 points over the championship course at Costa Adeje Golf.
The Ro3 Team, UAE Team 1, of Ian Overton (5) and Stuart Quinn (1) finished in 18th place with 72 points.
The Ro3 Team qualified through the UAE Final held at Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Dubai, in early October.
A total of 26 countries attended the 2022 World Final of the WAGT. Countries of note included: Spain, Dominican Republic, South Africa, Colombia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Wales, Angola, India, Ghana, Italy, Turkey, Poland and Czech Republic.
Marta Biswas, of White Eagle Sport, the owners of the UAE rights to the WCGC said at the World Final, ‘This is the first time we have taken our UAE winners to the World Final. Congratulations to our two UAE Teams on their performances. We have ambitious plans for 2023 with enhanced Qualifying Rounds at golf clubs around the UAE during the season. Next year's WCGC World Final will take place in Cascais, Lisbon, Portugal and we are looking forward to making the project bigger and better. More news will follow shortly.’
