Swedish golfer Maja Stark shot a final round of two under par 70 to win the €300,000 AMUNDI German Masters at Golf & Country Club Seddiner See, Germany, on the Ladies European Tour.

This does not tell the whole story as 22 year-old Maja finished birdie – birdie to win by one shot from fellow Swede Jessica Karlsson, the third round leader, who finished bogey – bogey on her 17th and 18th holes.

Leonie Harm (Ger) shot a final round 68 but likewise finished one shy in tied second after birdieing holes 14 and 15, but could not manage one more required birdie on any of the final three holes to match the leader.

Five shots

Maja has won one event on the LET Access Series in 2021 and this year in May won the Women’s NSW Open, her first on the LET by a dominant five shots.

This takes Stark to the top of the LET’s 2022 Race to Costa Del Sol Order of Merit Rankings to overtake fellow Swede Linn Grant.

Stark has excelled this 2022 season with two wins, two 2nds, a tied 3rd, a tied 7th and a tied 10th plus two other performances, with one tied 30th and A N Other.

The next tournament on the LET is the Estrella Damm Ladies Open Presented by Catalunya to be held at Club De Golf Teramar, Spain Thursday 7th - Sunday 10th July with a €300,000 prizefund.
