Nicole Garcia (RSA) shot a five under par 67 to take the sole lead after the first round of the $1 million ARAMCO Team Series – Singapore at Laguna National, Singapore, on the Ladies’ European Tour.

Garcia, 32 years old, with one win on the LET and currently 23rd in the Race to Costa Del Sol Order of Merit, had seven birdies with nines of 36 and 31.

She takes a one stroke lead into tomorrow’s second round of this 54-hole Individual Event.

Dubai based Chiara Noja (Ger) started impressively with a front nine of 33, three under par with four birdies in her first eight holes from tee one.

A double on hole 13 and eight pars saw her home in 38 to lie in tied 21st.

Other notable players in the field include Women’s World Number One Lydia Ko (NZ) on level par and the 2022 Race to Costa Del Sol Order of Merit champion, Linn Grant (Swe), in tied second on 68 including four other players.

In the $500,000 Team Event, Team Noja had a best two scores from the team of four of 11 under par, five back of leaders Team Young, comprising of Liz Young, Gabriella Cowley, Anne-Charlotte Mora and amateur Elaine Widjaja.

The second round begins tomorrow (Friday) at 8.35 am local time and it will see the conclusion of the Team event.
