It was a real struggle for everyone on Saturday in The DGC Open. It just shows how challenging the conditions were as I shot a two-over par 74 to maintain my tied 21st place with a round to go.

With my rounds of 71, 73 and 74, I stand on two-over par for the tournament on 218. The winds got up today, and this is where the Delhi golf course plays tough with all the trees lined fairways and it is, at times, guesswork to assess the impact of the wind at ground level.

The Asian Tour officials tucked the pins in difficult pin positions and the greens continued to be firm.

The statistic of the day that sums up the challenge was that only four players in the field broke 70 today and no one bettered a three-under par 69. After three rounds, only 11 players are under par.

Regarding on my own game, I managed four birdies, which was decent but had two bogeys and two doubles on holes six and nine. I just made too many errors out there today.

Looking at the weather forecast for the final round for Sunday, it looks like we will have to put up with the same tough conditions as today. So, it is important to stay positive.

My fellow Dubai Golden Visa awardee Jeev Milkha Singh, who made the cut on the mark, shot a third round of 75 and fellow Dubai resident MG Keyser, who represents Jumeirah Golf Estates, matched my 74.

My final round tee time from the first tee is at 9.10 am and I will be following the match of MG Keyser. Jeev tees off the 10th tee at 9.20 am.

Speak to you after tomorrow’s final round!
