Miguel Tabuena (PHI) shot a final round 65, for a 72-hole total of 12 under par 266, to win the DGC Open at Delhi Golf Club on the Asian Tour
Tabuena, 28 years-old, had nines of 33 and 32, with 16 of 18 greens hit in regulation, including the last nine to take the title by just one shot.
This is his third title on the Asian Tour, having previously won the 2015 Philippine Open and the 2018 Queen’s Cup. He has also won on the OneAsia Tour in 2018 and has 13 victories on the Philippine Tour with his first win in 2012.
This victory moves Tabuena upto third in the Asian Tour Order of Merit and he takes home the tournament trophy and the first prize cheque of $135,000.
In second place was third round leader Rashid Khan (Ind) who shot his worst round of the week a level par 72, seven worse than the champion, with two bogeys and two birdies.
Dubai’s Shiv Kapur (IND) shot a final round of 69 to go along with his first three rounds of 75, 69 and 76 to finish in tied 32nd and moves to 93rd in the Asian Tour Order of Merit, led by American Andy Ogletree.
On completing his round Shiv told GULF NEWS, ‘A few too many loose shots this week. This golf course penalises any errant shots - the finish to my round yesterday with two doubles on my last two holes, was my undoing but on to next week. This is a course that suits my eye and game. I am looking forward to building on today’s round.’
