LIV Golf returns to the golfing calendar this week with the $25 million LIV Golf – Tucson in Arizona, US, Friday 17th – Sunday 20th March, 2023.
The Individual Event boasts a prizefund of $20 million and the Team Event $5 million.
Dubai-based Anirban Lahiri (Ind) will be competing for the Crushers GC Team alongside Captain Bryson DeChambeau, Paul Casey and Charles Howell III. They won the Team Event in the first LIV Golf Event of the season in Mexico last month.
Three-peat victory
The PGA Tour hosts the Valspar Championship playing for a purse of $8.1 million,
Double defending champion Sam Burns (US), currently 15th on the OWGR and 58th in the FedEx Cup Rankings is looking for a three-peat victory.
Burns is joined by Justin Thomas, Matt Fitzpatrick, Jordan Spieth (2015 winner) and Keegan Bradley.
Other notable players in the field are Dubai resident Tommy Fleetwood, Brian Harman, Justin Rose, K.H. Lee and Kevin Kisner. DP World’s Race to Dubai Rankings leader Victor Perez is also in the field, standing at 63 in the OWGR.
Top 100
Dubai resident Chiara Noja (Ger), who broke into the top 100 of the ROLEX Women’s World Rankings last week in South Africa at number 95 with a third placed podium finish, plays this week in the $1 million ARAMCO Team Series – Singapore. The 16 year-old is in the 78 player field that also includes Women’s World Number One Lydia Ko (NZ), Danielle Kang (US) and Sweden’s Linn Grant.
The DP World Tour is in South Africa for the SDC Championship featuring Rafa Cabrera Bello and Adrian Otaegui, whilst the Asian Tour is playing at Delhi Golf Club in The DGC Open featuring Dubai’s Shiv Kapur (Ind), who has recovered from a bout of flu, that meant he missed last week’s International Series – Thailand, on the Asian Tour.
51 year-old Jeev Milkha Singh (Ind) is playing in the Japan Senior Tour Qualifying Tournament, Friday 17th – Sunday 19th March, 2023.
