Home player, Taichi Kho (HK) shot a second consecutive six under par 64 to be 12 under par to lead after the second round of the $1 million World City Championship presented by the Hong Kong Golf Club today (Friday) on the Asian Tour.

Rookie professional Kho was unveiled as the Hong Kong Golf Club’s Ambassador this week and was one behind the first round leader after day one.

A round of two nines of 32 gives Kho a two shot lead from Miguel Tabuena (PHI).

As an amateur Kho finished runner-up after a two hole play-off at the 2021 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship at Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.

Dubai based Jeev Milkha Singh (IND) shot a second round 66 to move to tied 23rd place and Shiv Kapur (IND), a 67 to be placed tied 36th.

Shiv told Gulf News on completing his round, ‘I played much better today. I kept the mistakes off the card. I will continue with the same plan over the weekend, I was very pleased to hit 17 of 18 greens in regulation.’

Henrik Stenson (SWE) made the cut with rounds of 70 and 69, whilst Ian Poulter (ENG) also made it - on the mark, with rounds of 68 and 72.

The 36 hole cut fell at level par with 71 players through to the weekend.

The tournament also has the honour of being part of The Open Qualifying Series, with the leading four players not otherwise exempt earning a place in The Open at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in July.
