Sweden’s Linn Grant, 22-year-old professional, shot a final round eight under par 64 for a total of 24 under par to win the $2 million Volvo Cars Scandinavian Mixed hosted by Henrik and Annika at Halmstad Golf Club, Sweden, co-sanctioned by both the DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour (LET).
The LET rookie created history by becoming the first female golfer to win on the DP World Tour, winning by nine shots and banking the first prize of $319,716.62.
She started the final round two strokes ahead of the field and it soon became obvious it was by how many she would win, rather than would she win, as she went to the turn in a five birdie 31.
Birdies followed on 10, 11 and 14, and she finished the tournament comfortably with four pars.
Linn carried the flag for all the lady golfers in the field all week with the next best LET player in tied 15th, Gabriella Cowley (Eng), on 10 under par.
This is the third win for Linn this season from six appearances on the 2022 LET, following previous wins in Joburg and Belgium. Her other three finishes were tied 7th, 7th and tied 13th.
Her next tournament will be the $1 million ARAMCO Team Series – London, at the Centurion Club starting on Thursday 16th June.
Runners-up in the tournament were Marc Warren (Scot) and tournament co-host Henrik Stenson (Swe) who tied on 15 under par having shot 7 under and 2 under respectively. Warren is projected to move up 142 spots to 92nd and Stenson up 92 spots to 58th in the DP World Tour Rankings.
