Sweden’s Linn Grant, a 22-year-old professional, shot a third round 66 for a 54 hole total of 16 under par at the $2 million Volvo Cars Scandinavian Mixed hosted by Henrik and Annika at Halmstad Golf Club, Sweden, co-sanctioned by both the DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour (LET).

A bogey free round of four birdies and an eagle on hole 11 saw the LET rookie take a two-shot lead into tomorrow’s (Sunday) final round.

LPGA Tour card

Linn turned professional in August last year when ranked fourth in the Women’s WAGR. In October she won her first tournament as a professional, the Terre Blanche Ladies Open in France.

In December 2021, she earned her 2022 LPGA Tour card at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament.

In February 2022, Linn won two titles on the Sunshine Ladies Tour in South Africa. In March, she won the Joburg Ladies Open, her first Ladies European Tour title. After a tie for 7th at the season-ending Investec South African Women’s Open she captured the Sunshine Ladies Tour’s Order of Merit title, ahead of Lee-Anne Pace.

Linn will carry the flag for all the lady golfers in the field in the final round, being the sole representative in the top 16 in this mixed field.

Second round leader Jason Scrivener (Aus) shot a third round 70 to be paired with Linn in tomorrow’s (Sunday) final round.

Strong form

One of the rounds of the day was by 46 year-old former Dubai resident Henrik Stenson (Swe), tournament co-host and European Ryder Cup Team Captain who continued his recent strong form with a 67.

Stenson will be looking for his first DP World Tour trophy since his win at Troon in The 2016 Open. A five birdie outward half of 31 strokes and a back nine of level par 36 saw him move up four places to sole third and three shots back.

The leaders will tee off last at 1.35 pm (Local Swedish time) with Linn and Scrivener in the final pairing.
