Branden Grace (RSA) shot a final round seven under par 65 to finish with a 54 hole total of 13 under par to win the $25 million LIV Golf Invitational at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, Portland, US.

In this second event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series and the first to be held in the US, the 34-year-old had a round of eight birdies and a sole bogey in this unique shotgun start format to take home the $4 million first place cheque.

Flawless golf

Grace said after his round, “I played flawless golf, played really, really well when I needed to do something special and came up and managed to pull it out.”

Grace beat Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz by two strokes, who shot a three under par 69. Dustin Johnson (71) finished four back alongside Patrick Reed (67).

The 4 ACES GC US Team of Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Talor Gooch and Pat Perez won the team competition at Pumpkin Ridge on 23 under par, with the best three scores counting for the final round and share a Team prizefund of $3 million with $750,000 going to each player.

The next $25 million event on the LIV Golf Invitational Series is to be held July 29th – 31st, 2022 Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster, US.
