Dubai: This week sees the return of the LIV Golf League as it plays at Cedar Ridge Country Club in Tulsa, US, boasting a $25 million prizefund: $20 million for the Individual Event and $5 million for the Team Event.
A total of 48 players compete in 12 teams of four players, with the best three scores from the team of four counting to the team score.
The 4ACES GC lead the season-long Team Standings and Taylor Gooch (US, RangeGoats GC) is atop of the Individual Standings, followed by Peter Uihlein (US, 4ACES GC), Charles Howell III (US, Crushers GC) and Brooks Koepka (US, Smash GC).
Back into the swing
The DP World Tour visits mainland Europe for the first time this year with the Soudal Open in Belgium, the 20th event on the 44-tournament season. It has a prizefund of $2 million, 2,750 Race to Dubai points and 2,500 Ryder Cup points. Thorbjorn Oleson (Denmark), Adrian Otaegui (Spain), Nicolas Colsaerts (Belgium), David Horsey (England) and Craig Howie (Scotland), representing Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club, are all in the Entry List.
Dubai-based Chiara Noja, returns to action on the Ladies European Tour at the Jabra Ladies Open. Chiara is currently ninth in the LET’s Race to Costa Del Sol Rankings and 97th in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings. Chiara, prior to travelling to Switzerland, told Gulf News: “I am really looking forward to getting back into the swing of the golf season. I have never played the Evian Golf Resort golf course before this week — it looks super great and is an iconic course. As always, I have no real expectations this week. I will continue with my processes as my goals and I will make sure I make the most of every shot. It has been super nice to be home for a few weeks and recuperate — but now I am buzzing to get back out on tour.”
