The golf action this week sees the Asian Tour remain in the Middle East with the $2 million International Series – Oman being held at Al Mouj Golf, Muscat, Oman, Thursday 9th – Sunday 12th February, 2023.

Brooks Koepka (US) headlines the 132 player field along with Louis Oosthuizen (RSA), Jason Kokrak (US), Sergio Garcia (Spain), Graeme McDowell (NI), Charl Schwartzel (RSA), Branden Grace (RSA), Joaqin Niemann (Chile), and the cream of the Asian Tour, including Dubai based Jeev Milkha Singh (Ind), Shiv Kapur (Ind) and MG Keyser (RSA), who represents Jumeirah Golf Estates.

The DP World Tour travels East after four weeks in the Middle East, for the $2 million Singapore Classic played at Laguna National Golf Resort Club,

Notables in the field include Robert MacIntyre (Scot), Ryan Smith (NZ), Jordan Smith (Eng) as well as UAE based players: Adri Arnaus (Spain), Rafa Cabrera Bello (Spain), David Horsey (Eng) and Nicolas Colsaerts (Bel), all striving for precious Race to Dubai Ranking points, as well as Ryder Cup and OWGR points.

The PGA Tour sees another elevated event taking place with the $20 million WM Phoenix Open in Arizona.

Marquee players entered include; World Number One Rory McIlroy (NI), Matt Fitzpatrick (Spain), Jon Rahm (Spain), Justin Thomas (US), Tyrrell Hatton (Eng), Tommy Fleetwood (Eng), Shane Lowry (Ire), Francesco Molinari (It) and Collin Morikawa (US).

Both the Ladies’ European Tour and the PGA Champions Tour are in North Africa, in Rabat, Morocco.

The LET event, the Lalla Meryem Cup, sees Dubai based Chiara Noja (Ger) making her 2023 season debut in this 54 hole event, the second of the LET schedule, boasting a purse of €450,000. The field includes JA The Resort Ambassador Olivia Cowan (Ger), Kristyna Napoleaova (Czech) 79th in the 2022 Merit table, Moroccan favourite Maha Haddioui, last year’s LET Order of Merit champion Linn Grant (Swe) and last week’s runaway winner in Kenya, Aditi Ashok (Ind).

The Hassan Trophy II sees the Champions Tour playing for $2 million, with a strong field including the likes of Bernhard Langer (Ger), Paul Lawrie (Scot), Paul Broadhurst (Eng), Retief Goosen (RSA), Jose Maria Olazabal (Spain), Tom Lehman (US), Corey Pavin (US), Colin Montgomerie (Scot), Roger Chapman (Eng), Alex Cejka (Ger) and Jasper Parnevik (Swe).
